How To Choose The Right Integrated Labels

Finding the right integrated label or your ecommerce software or platform used to be easy because only 2 styles existed and eBay was the only marketplace! Now we stock integrated labels in over 40 different styles to match despatch note and invoice formats for 245 major marketplaces and ecommerce software platforms.

So in case you’re bamboozled by the myriad of choice, we’ve written a helpful guide to choosing the right integrated label for your business and created a platform filter on our all integrated labels page to narrow down your choices.

Step 1 – What platform, software or marketplace are you using?

All of our integrated label layouts have been designed to match with a document layout from a popular ecommerce platform, software or marketplace, so we’ve tried our best to make it as easy as possible to narrow down your choices by listing which platform or marketplace each integrated label style is compatible with and allowing you to filter our products by this list.

Simply head to our Integrated Labels page and use the platform filter on the left to quickly narrow down your choices. We’re constantly working to increase the choices available in this filter list so if your software isn’t in there please get in touch and we’ll be happy to help you find the right integrated label layout and we’ll add it to our filters for other customers to use.

Platforms, software and marketplaces change their layouts quite often and some have configurators that allow you to fit to any layout, so we must stress that these are our recommended products for the platforms in our filter set. Because of this we strongly recommend that you follow steps 2 and 3 too even if you already think “great I’ve found what I need!”

Step 2 – What does your output look like?

If your platform, marketplace or software is available in our platform filter then hopefully you’ve already narrowed down your choices, but there are often multiple layouts and documents available even in individual platforms. So the next step is to get a bit more detailed and actually print a dummy output of the layout you will be using and do some measuring.

Print out your despatch note, invoice or picking slip on plain paper and draw a box around the label area. We recommend allowing at least 5-10mm around the address/despatch label on all sides to cater for printer paper handling and changes in address size.

Draw
Measure

Normally by this point it’s really clear which output you need, other times it’s necessary to grab the ruler from the stationery drawer and measure where in the sheet your address label needs to be located. Do this by measuring how far the label is from the nearest two edges of the paper.

Looking through the small icons in our Integrated Labels Page should now really help you narrow down your choice even further; clicking on any product in this table takes you to the product page where there are more details, images and downloadable templates. Remember sheets can be rotated!! Bottom left is top right, bottom right is top left and so on – this sounds silly but we get asked this all the time!

Rotate

Step 3 – Testing!

So, you’ve chosen the layout you think is most suited to your business, or possibly you’ve narrowed it down to a few choices, at this point we really recommend testing before ordering in bulk to get the best value. We’ve given you a few ways to test so you can: do it immediately if you’re in a rush, for free with real products if you’ve got a little more time and inexpensively in bulk if you’re a big operation and need to thoroughly test – here are your options:

Test Immediately With Downloadable Templates

  • Click on any product on our Integrated Labels Page to go to the product page.
  • From the downloads tab here you can download a template in the file format of your choice.
  • Print a few of these templates off then put them back into your printer.
  • Print your despatch note, invoice or picking slip layouts onto the template sheets and see if they’re right for you.

Test A Few Sheets For Free With Our Free Samples Service

  • As with the downloadable templates, free samples allow you to print some test sheets to see how well your output lines up with our layout with the added advantage of a real time test with actual integrated label sheets.
  • You can order up to 5 product samples at a time completely free, after that the samples remain free but we simply charge a small amount to cover our postage.

Run A Thorough Test With 100 Sheets Using Our Value Packs

  • For people that want to conduct a more thorough test at a lower cost than a 1000 sheet box, we sell 100 sheet packs of all of our integrated labels. Typically we see larger operations going for this so they can conduct a thorough test of the integrated label sheets in their printing equipment prior to ordering in bulk.
  • These are also great for our smaller customers for whom 100 orders is quite a lot, so they can order integrated labels to help their business without having to buy a year’s supply!

Step 4 – Address Label Alignment, Printing & Handling, And Customisation

So this is a few steps rolled into one, we admit it, but there’s some great advice in here that covers the next steps in making the switch to integrated labels and getting the best out of them for your business:
