Record Mailers
Record mailers — also known as vinyl mailers, LP mailers, or vinyl record packaging — are designed specifically to protect 12" and 7" vinyl records in transit. A standard cardboard box or padded envelope won't keep a record truly rigid; record mailers are built with the right dimensions, board thickness, and closure to ensure records arrive in the same condition they left.
Our range covers 12" record mailers, 7" record mailers, and multi-record options for sending several records in a single despatch. All plastic free and fully recyclable.
Choosing the right record mailer
For 12" vinyl records, the Colompac CP 030 extra strong mailer is our most popular option. Made with double thickness corrugated cardboard and pre-creased grooves that adjust to the height of the contents, a single mailer can accommodate multiple records without compromising on rigidity. Fully carbon neutral with scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions offset — a strong choice for record shops and sellers with sustainability commitments.
For 7" singles, our white all-board envelopes are made from 500 micron, 350gsm GD2 fully coated chipboard — premium grade board that keeps smaller records protected without the bulk of a larger mailer.
Sending vinyl records by Royal Mail
Getting your record mailer dimensions right can make a meaningful difference to postage costs, particularly if you're despatching at volume. A 7" record packed in the right mailer can often sit within Royal Mail's large letter threshold; 12" records typically fall into small parcel.
