Postal tubes are the go-to solution for sending rolled documents, posters, prints, certificates, and architectural drawings safely through the post. Available in sizes from A3 to A0 and B2 to B0, in narrow, standard, and wide diameters, our range covers most document despatch needs — from a single rolled print to multiple sheets sent together.
All made from 100% recycled fibreboard and fully recyclable. End caps are included as standard with round tubes and are available to buy separately if you're cutting tubes down to size.
Round postal tubes are the traditional choice — available in narrow, standard, and wide diameters depending on how many sheets you're sending and how tightly you need to roll them. Narrow tubes suit single documents rolled tightly; standard tubes are better for a few sheets or looser rolls; wide tubes are designed for higher volumes or documents that shouldn't be rolled too tightly.
Square postal tubes and trapezium postal tubes from ColomPac solve a common problem with round tubes — couriers often treat cylindrical parcels as 'uglies' due to their tendency to roll, which can result in surcharges or handling issues. Square and trapezium tubes stack easily, behave more like a box in the courier network, are completely plastic free, and are manufactured climate neutrally.
For smaller tubes, Royal Mail is often the most cost-effective option. Royal Mail's guidance for rolled and cylindrical items is that the length plus twice the diameter must not exceed 104cm, with the longest dimension no greater than 90cm. Our Royal Mail size guide covers the full size and weight thresholds to help you find the most cost-effective sending option.
For larger or heavier tubes, a courier is usually necessary — it's worth getting quotes from several providers as pricing for tube-shaped parcels varies significantly between couriers, and some apply surcharges for non-standard shapes. Square and trapezium tubes tend to attract fewer surcharges for this reason.
Yes — all cardboard postal tubes in our range are made from 100% recycled fibreboard and are fully recyclable. The plastic end caps supplied with round tubes are also recyclable. Our square and trapezium tubes go further — they're completely plastic free, biodegradable, and manufactured climate neutrally. Use our recycling locator to find your nearest facility — select corrugated cardboard for the tubes and plastic bottles for any end caps.
Choose your tube size based on the dimensions of your largest document and how tightly it can be rolled. A narrow tube suits a single A2 or smaller sheet rolled tightly. Standard tubes handle A1 or a few sheets at once. Wide tubes are best for A0, B-series sizes, or multiple sheets where you want to avoid a tight roll.
