Are Bespoke Integrated Labels Right For Me?

Are Bespoke Integrated Labels Right For Me?

We sell millions of sheets of plain stock integrated labels every month to thousands of ecommerce businesses, so why would you make the choice to go bespoke? We hope to answer that question for you in this post by explaining why many of our larger customers and big recognisable brands choose a pre-printed or custom integrated label layout and help you identify when that decision may be right for you and your business.

What Are Bespoke Integrated Labels?

Any integrated label sheet that is pre-printed with your brand information and other design work is a custom integrated label; as is any layout, label shape, size or location that isn’t one of our 40+ stocked layouts, even without pre-printing. Most frequently we produce printed integrated label sheets that are the same as one of our stock label sizes and locations, bespoke printed with brand, terms and conditions, and other information. But for many of our larger customers we also make custom layouts with additional pre-paid returns labels and specific label sizes and locations.

Why Choose Bespoke Integrated Labels?

So just why do so many of our customers choose to brand and customise their integrated labels sheets? And why would you? There are 4 possible reasons you might consider this:

  1. The despatch note always reaches the customer
  2. Direct traffic is free!
  3. Free returns boost site conversion
  4. Your system needs a custom layout

Let’s take a closer look at each of these reasons and help you determine whether bespoke integrated labels are right for you.

1. The Despatch Note Always Reaches The Customer

Sounds obvious right? But seriously, what would you pay to send a marketing message that was guaranteed to reach the customer? Even better, a marketing message that’s guaranteed to reach the customer when they’re happiest – having just received their goods! Custom integrated labels are the perfect opportunity to speak directly to your customers, and our big brand customers have this all figured out.

They often print promotions, URLs and brand logos on their integrated label sheets knowing that their message will get through to the customer. This is especially important now that people are bombarded with email and direct marketing messages every day.

2. Direct Traffic Is Free!

The last thing big brands and multi-channel sellers want their customers to do is go back to google, eBay or Amazon to find them when they need to order again. Advertising in google has click charges, and marketplaces like eBay and Amazon take a percentage of sales value as commission. By branding your integrated label despatch notes and including offers, feedback requests, or other product information, you can encourage customers to return directly to your website; avoiding repeat route to market costs and unnecessary channel fees. Many of our customers who sell on eBay for example, highlight their own website on the despatch notes to encourage customers to use that instead.

3. Free Returns Boost Site Conversion

It is no secret that free returns are becoming increasingly popular and are widely offered from many large businesses and brands. So why spend all that money and encourage people to return their goods? Let’s take a look at the logic behind it.

Sites with lots of traffic use conversion rate as a key performance indicator because conversions are sales and sales are revenue. In a competitive world where every perk and improvement in user experience is quickly identified by the customer, reducing fear of purchase and adding value are fantastic ways to boost conversion rate and consequently, revenue.

Free returns are exactly that – a perceived perk of shopping with your company and a reduced fear of online purchasing; increasing conversion rates and driving customer loyalty. Interestingly it hasn’t been shown to increase returns rates and some retailers even report less loss of returns due to an accurate address label and tracked returns service being used. Because of this, one of the most popular custom integrated label features we produce, is pre-paid collect+ and royal mail returns labels. Another popular option is non-paid returns address labels for companies that want to help their customers with returns without incurring any additional cost.

4. Your System Needs A Custom Layout

The final common reason for choosing a bespoke integrated label is needing a custom integrated label size or location to match with a despatch or ecommerce system output or to conform to a desired design. Many of our bespoke customers use their own despatch systems and include courier labels into their despatch notes in a specific location. In these cases we manufacture a layout that specifically suits their systems and requirements.

When Should You Consider A Bespoke Option?

All of the above are great reasons to choose a bespoke integrated label for your business, but of course there’s a right and wrong time to consider them. Our stock integrated labels are right for a lot of our customers, so when should you consider a bespoke option?

You should consider going for a bespoke integrated label option if you:

  • are ordering more than 10-20,000 sheets
  • your company is brand focused
  • use custom systems or layouts

Are You Ordering More Than 10-20,000 Sheets?

A common trait of all of our bespoke customers is their high order volumes. An order of 3-6 month’s supply of integrated labels is a significant number of sheets, making a bespoke solution much more cost effective. We typically recommend minimum bespoke order sizes of 10-20,000 sheets and recommend ordering 3-6 month’s supply for best value.

Are You Brand Focused?

Once you start considering your business in a brand oriented way, customer experience, brand awareness and repeat custom all come into focus. This means it’s time to consider branding your despatch notes and promoting your products and route to market through your despatch communications.

Do You Use Custom Systems Or Layouts?

Of course if your system or desired despatch note and label layout doesn’t closely match to one of our stock integrated label styles, then bespoke integrated label sheets are for you. We’ve produced bespoke layouts for contact lens sellers, pharmaceutical companies and international despatchers, all to match with their own custom despatch systems or industry specific labelling requirements.
